About Jennifer Queen:

Raised in the small town of Kenora, Ontario and educated in Winnipeg, I acquired a unique mix of small town charm and city smarts.  From a very young age, I was a classic over-achiever, focused on personal goals and success.  I was always rallying the neighbourhood kids to join me in my next business venture, whether it be a lemonade stand, a flower sale, or a carwash to raise money for our grad party!  University in Winnipeg provided equal parts culture shock and personal growth.  Surrounded by students and faculty from diverse backgrounds, with equally diverse interests, I quickly learned that enjoying life itself was just as important as personal success.  It was really eye-opening.  Today, life makes me smile.

I acquired my Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Manitoba with a concentration in Marketing and Finance.  I also have completed my MBA at the University of Manitoba with a concentration in Marketing to further enhance my real estate marketing abilities.  I have always believed that if you aren’t getting better, you are getting worse – which is why I continue to invest in these educational courses. I am currently a mentor to new agents at RE/MAX PROFESSIONALS which allows me to impart much of what I have learned over the years while sharpening my skills.

I’ve spoken positively about my University experience above, but best part of University, was that I reconnected and fell in love with one of my old high-school classmates, Logan, who had also moved to Winnipeg from Kenora.  Quite often you will find the two of us working as a team for our signature Open Houses.

About Amy McDermid:

My name is Amy, and I’m a Licensed Assistant with the Jennifer Queen Team, as well as part of the administrative brains behind the business! I started working “behind the scenes” in November of 2012. I come from a strong background in the Customer Service Industry (with over 8 year experience), so real estate seemed like a natural fit!

I was born and raised in the small town of Kenora, Ontario. I grew up very involved in sports and have always enjoyed being part of a team. I love the atmosphere, the friendships, and the comfort of always having the support of someone you trust. That’s why when Jen asked me to join her team back in 2012, I didn’t hesitate! My first love, hockey, is what brought me to Winnipeg back in 2006 when I was recruited to play for the Manitoba Bison’s. I’m what they call a “grinder” which is defined as a player who is better known for their hard work and checking than their scoring. I believe this also describes my work ethic and personality. After attending the University of Manitoba in 2010 I immersed myself into real estate. I became licensed in 2011 and haven’t looked back!

Winnipeg showed me my second love – my husband Chris, who is also from Kenora. Chris and I were friends throughout high school but our love blossomed in November of 2006 when we went on our first date (which I didn’t know was a date until much later). We have been inseparable ever since. Chris and I married in August of 2015 (yes your math is correct, that’s 9 years of dating) in our hometown of Kenora. It was a perfect day, with the exception of the torrential downpour we had all day. Oh, did I mention our wedding was outside? It was a day I’ll never forget!

Chris and I love spending time with our fun, cuddly, stubborn dog, Provie (Yes like the golf ball and/or boat), who we adopted from the Winnipeg Humane Society three years ago.

In the summer, if I am not working, you will most likely find my husband and I out golfing, or fishing or camping. I also love spending time in my kitchen. I love the way food makes you feel and I enjoy sharing that with others. The enjoyment I get from watching people eat my food is similar to real estate in that I love helping people find their dream home and the excitement and joy that it brings to them.

I’m very excited to work with families in our community in their search to find somewhere to call “home”. If you’re looking for honesty and awesome customer service, please feel free to call with any questions. I’d love to hear from you!

About Logan Queen:

Growing up in Kenora, Ontario I fell in love with the great outdoors.  This love of the natural world led me to pursue my education at the University of Manitoba, where I received my Bachelors degree in science with a major in Biology.  For years I worked throughout Manitoba and Canada doing research on freshwater fish.  This led me to beautiful places within our country and our province, but ever since my university days I have truly felt at home in Winnipeg.

Throughout my years of travel my love of the City of Winnipeg grew and after becoming homeowners in 2008 my love of home ownership and the real estate market was ignited.  That feeling of owning a house and knowing that this residence truly is your home is a feeling that changed my view on life.  I finally understood and appreciated the effort and energy others put into their homes.  This appreciation and understanding led to an increasing interest in the ability to transform a property, seeing it for the bones and structure and how to completely make a house your own home.

In 2006 I reconnected with a high-school friend (and former crush) from Kenora, Jen, and quickly realized that she was so much more than a friend.  We married in 2010 and it truly was the best day of my life.  In 2015 we found out our family was going to grow by one.  This amazing news led me to plan a year of parental leave from my career to be close to home and focus on our daughter, Everly.  This has been the best decision of my life.  Keeping up with our busybody daughter has given me an increased love for life and has led me to pursue my love of real estate.

I started as the “sign guy” for Jen, putting up the open house signs and feather flags that are a trademark of our open houses.  While assisting Jen my appreciation for the process of real estate grew and I received my real estate license to help people find their first home, forever home or their next adventure.  Now Jen and I are able to support each other and our clients as we help each one travel down this amazing road of home ownership.

Our Company:

We work out of the RE/MAX PROFESSIONALS office on Buffalo Place.  We are the largest RE/MAX office in Winnipeg with a large support team which includes an in-house marketing department, conveyancing department, law office, home-insurance office, mortgage brokers, and much more.  We are a cohesive bunch that believe in giving back – 100% of our office donates annually to the Children’s Miracle Network.

How we do business:

No matter the challenge, my attitude is “Bring it on!”. Since Jen's second month in business, she has been a top producer for the company, and she expects no less of her team. Those who have worked with us in that past will tell you that our high energy approach and dedication to incredible marketing is what makes us successful in real estate.

For sellers:

We stop at nothing to make sure your listings are advertised to the max.  This includes: social media strategies, staging consultations, professional photography, virtual tours, hand-delivered open house invitations, 20-30 open house signs (and additional feather flags), For Sale signs with a light source, social media campaigns, Realtor open houses, and much more.  We will always push to get our clients the offer they want.
