Norwood is a beautiful, mature neighbourhood with a rich history.  It is part of the larger area of St Boniface. Norwood is divided into two subareas: Norwood East, which most just call Norwood, and Norwood Flats. While Norwood Flats is primarily residential, Norwood is a mix of residential and commercial properties. Conveniently located just south of Winnipeg’s downtown core, it provides an easy commute for working professionals. Surrounded by abundant greenery and offering sweeping river views, this neighbourhood is a perfect haven for families, with many playgrounds and schools within its borders.

Norwood and Norwood Flats consist mostly of single-family, detached homes. Norwood offers diversity in building options, including apartment complexes, duplexes, and condominiums. As you walk through these communities, you'll encounter the rich history of turn-of-the-century character homes.

Construction in the area continued heavily until the 1960s. The mature and sought-after nature of the area has led to new construction options. The history of development provides a great variety in housing types, from affordable starter homes to beautiful, upscale, riverfront properties in Norwood Flats. There is something for everyone here!

"I love this neighborhood because I've lived here over 30 years. I love the community. The ability to walk along the river, to say hi to people that I meet. I feel safe here. [..] It's my home. I can't think of living anywhere else. And I have friends here."

" I love this neighbourhood because there' s a river trail right here to skate on. I can skate all the way to the Forks down the Assiniboine in the winter time. In the summer, I can take my bicycle from my house all the way to Witthier Park without going on a road. I can go down the Lyndale path all the way under two bridges. So I love it. It's close to the city. I can walk to Jets games, I can walk to the Forks. The people are great. The houses have a lot of character. Lot of nice dog walkers I meet every day around here. I could walk across the river even in the winter and walk on the other side. It's an awesome neighbourhood. If you're thinking of getting a place, it's great. It's hard to get into, maybe. But we love it."

"We've been in this neighborhood for almost 40 years. Lived on a house on Birchdale, and now we're on Crawford. We love it here because it's quiet. It's close to everything. Close to the river. We can take walks and enjoy nature. Every once in a while, we see some deer walking in front of our house. [...]We've grown up in this area, and we just love it here. And we will stay here as long as we can. "

"We love Norwood. We've been here for 25 years. The people, first and foremost, are excellent in this little community here. We love the river. In the winter, we get down and walk to the Forks.  And in the summer we do our hikes on Lyndale Drive all the way down to St Mary's. It is a fantastic place. Young families, retirees, everyone is here and we love Norwood."
